Booming local dining group K2 Restaurants is back with another fast casual Japanese bento box location of Supertoro. The team’s large and primely-situated Hollywood location opens on Monday.

Supertoro considers itself to be among the first fast casual bento box options in Los Angeles, working a tight menu of Japanese staples that spans from crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail, rock shrimp or pork belly, to rolls, greens, and snacks on the side. There’s also beer and sake available at both the current Santa Monica food hall location and this new standalone in Hollywood. An Echo Park expansion is planned for 2020.

The space itself used to house coffee shop and daytime cafe Demitasse, before briefly being swapped out for a fast casual döner kebab restaurant named Kebbros, which only lasted a couple of months. The communal dining area has been kept bright and airy, with the addition of warm new color tones and lots of light wood. The Forest Group oversaw the build out.

Hours for the new Supertoro Hollywood start on Monday, and run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with an expansion to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The first 50 guests in line can snag a bento box for free.
