There’s new life at the long-awaited Firestone Tire Building on La Brea. The adaptive redevelopment of the Streamline Moderne building just south of Wilshire, which dates to the 1930s, has been planned for revitalization for years now, but up until now it’s been rather slow going.
Now comes news of an all-new brewery slated for the space, to be called All Season Brewing Company. The craft brewery comes from Pouring With Heart, the massive nightlife and hospitality company that also owns Arts District Brewing, Cole’s, Seven Grand, Imperial Western Beer, and beyond. Reps tell Eater that the 15-barrel brewery will hold 20 taps of beer as well as wine and a full lineup of cocktails, spread across a 13,000 square foot space that includes both in door and outdoor space. Devon Randall will oversee production as brewmaster.
What’s more, Chicas Tacos has come onboard to outfit the food side of the development, making tacos to order while also expanding into bowls, salads, and more plant-based foods like Impossible Meat tacos. Executive chef Eduardo Ruiz will oversee the Chicas side of things along with partners Jon and Chris Blanchard and Nicolo Rusconi.
Separately, Chicas is also expanding into Culver City early in the new year, with planned locations in Mid-City West and Venice to come as well. Meanwhile, the whole Firestone Tire project, designed by Matt Winter of M. Winter Design, is ramping up fast now, with a planned opening set for sometime in early 2020.
