Another chic new hotel is heading for Downtown soon, and it promises to bring along a grip of restaurant and drinking options inside. The one’s called the Wayfarer DTLA, and is an offshoot of the popular Santa Barbara spot of same name.
The new Wayfarer property will hold 156 different rooms and at least four different food and beverage options inside. First up is Lilly Rose, the anchor evening space found in the basement. The place is meant to look shabby chic and serve as not only a drinking and dining beacon, but also act as a home for live music, stand up, and more.
The Rooftop upstairs will serve as more of a traditional open-air bar, with cocktails and views of the city not unlike Broken Shaker or the Ace Hotel. The Kitchen is the hotel’s attempt at a communal kitchen, offering food from the staff as well as the ability to take cooking classes and for hotel guests to cook for groups. The lobby will also hold an all-day restaurant and beer bar for three-meal service called the Gaslighter Social Club.
The Wayfarer DTLA takes over for the former Milner Hotel on Flower Street, just a block north of L.A. Live. It’s a busy stretch with Hotel Figueroa (and all its dining options) just a block away, along with the new Hotel Indigo, Wolfgang Puck’s WP24 at the Ritz-Carlton, and beyond, but the density should also be a draw for folks looking to stay, dine, and walk around in Downtown. Expect the Wayfarer DTLA to open sometime in July of this summer.
