Goodbye to a legend

The ongoing saga of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills has come to a close, at least for now. Last night was the final evening of service for the longstanding spot, as it will soon be replaced by an upcoming location of Nate N’ Al, the seminal Jewish delicatessen. So far Wolfgang’s has declined to say where they’ll end up next, only that they’re actively searching for new locations in Beverly Hills and beyond. Reached for comment, ownership says that they “wish the new tenants the best” and that after 12 long years in Beverly Hills they are “looking forward to telling our customers about our new space in the next 2-3 months.”

Creme Caramel x Mendocino Farms

The fine folks from Creme Caramel LA are teaming up with Mendocino Farms for one week to offer inexpensive custard pies at the chain sandwich and salad spot’s Sherman Oaks location. The whole thing goes down starting on Thursday (3/14), with discounted pies for that day only at $3.14 apiece.

Five years young

Gelateria Uli is turning five next month, and to celebrate the sweets shop is doing a party at Downtown’s Spring Arcade building that will include music, champagne, and of course gelato.

Wine party

There’s another big wine party happening up in the Central Coast at Alisal Ranch. The upscale wine futures tasting happens over the last weekend of March, with tastings from dozens of the area’s best wineries. Tickets aren’t cheap though; they ring in at $400 a head.

Dinner and drinks

Speaking of wine, there’s a fun dinner happening tonight at Republique, featuring bottles from Santa Barbara-based Whitcraft Winery. The $125 event features a special multi-course menu from Republique chef/owner Walter Manzke.

Shake Shack for good

Shake Shack is trying to raise money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles tomorrow by offering to send 25% of any meal purchase from any non-airport location straight to the hospital. Just show up with the below flyer in hand and the company will donate all day long.
