Pico gone
Here’s a curious one: Apparently the Pico Rivera location of Teddy’s Red Tacos is no longer part of the growing micro-chain operated by founder Teddy Vasquez. That’s per the Teddy’s Red Tacos Instagram page and this story from L.A. Taco, which notes that Vasquez may have gotten into a business relationship that soured rather quickly. Ultimately Vasquez declines to get into specifics, stating only that he’s still running the South LA truck and the Venice location.
Party on Fairfax
Mexico City favorite Cicatriz is popping up at Fiona on Friday. Nicole Rucker and Shawn Pham will be collaborating with chef Scarlett Lindeman for one night only, doing unique dishes and rare wines all night long. Reservations are available now.
Get ready
Evan Funke’s upcoming cookbook American Sfoglino is available for pre-order now, though the book itself won’t hit shelves until September 24.
Pizza on the go
Pain Pizza, the French bread pizza pop-up, has a number of upcoming events around town. They start tonight at Bar Covell, move through Highland Park’s Good Housekeeping, and on to Tallula’s in Santa Monica on April 14.
Plants for all
A plant-based pop-up is coming to Exchange at the Freehand Hotel next month. The week-long series starts April 4 and includes a variety of vegetable-only dishes from chef Alex Chang, alongside lots of natural wine.

Game of Thrones sounds
There’s another Sounds Delicious live music and food event coming up on Saturday, May 11 at Lately in Chinatown. This one is a repeat of the popular (and quickly sold out) Game of Thrones food and music collaboration, so best to get tickets ASAP.
Gjusta love
Bon Appetit leans into more coverage of Los Angeles with a fawning profile of Gjusta in Venice. The all-day restaurant is Adam Rapoport’s “quintessential, never-miss” spot when visiting the city.
Dumbiversary
Downtown bar Bernadette’s is turning two, and to celebrate ownership is throwing a party all next weekend, along with a tasting of food from upcoming sister restaurant Buddy’s.
