Coachella, the massive music festival out in Indio every spring, comes back this year with a food lineup as impressive as its music. Many of the same vendors that made a splash in previous years will return, though some surprises remain for this year, but the big change this year is a Postmates “pickup” where festival goers can preorder dishes from a number of restaurants (sadly, no delivery).

Big new entrants this year are Echo Park’s Konbi, whose Japanese convenience store katsu sandos ruled Instagram last year, Hawkin’s House of Burgers, Tacos 1986 (Main VIP), Freedman’s (Main VIP), Madre (also in VIP), Love Hour (a smash burger spot that popped up recently at Smorgasburg), and Curtis Stone’s Gwen (which also resides in VIP). This year it seems the vendor mix is a little tighter, a little more edited and slightly less #branded, though the inevitable Instagram bait like Sweetfin, Salt & Straw, and Fuku come back to flood social media for a few weekends in April.

Other highlights include the return of PDTiki, a Tiki-inspired speakeasy found somewhere in the event grounds, and a full pop-up restaurant from Curtis and Luke Stone, with reservations available on OpenTable.

Finally, anyone looking to nab a seat at the more exclusive Outstanding in the Field, a full dinner with chefs doing a four-course meal, can reserve one here.

Here’s the full Coachella food and drink lineup

Fuku

A fried chicken spot from David Chang, which returns this year after debuting at the festival last year. Think of it as an upgraded Chick-Fil-A. Fuku seems to be everyone along the East Coast, but this is the only time and place to get it on the West Coast until Chang brings Fuku over to the best coast.
