When the legendary jewelry shop Tiffany & Co. opened its Blue Box Cafe in 2017, it became a permanent addition to the fourth floor of the Tiffany building in New York City’s tony Fifth Avenue. It became the place to have breakfast (and lunch) at Tiffany’s, so to speak, as in the iconic Truman Capote novella and eventual film starring Audrey Hepburn. The popular cafe won’t make a permanent home in Southern California, but will arrive as a powder blue breakfast pop-up called Tiffany Cafe at Beverly Hills for two days on May 4 and 5, 2019.
The pop-up will keep a short and simple menu, with four items brought to the table. A croissant with rhubarb jam, a Nutella Greek yogurt bowl, avocado toast with tri-colored radishes, za’atar, and an optional poached egg, buttermilk waffles, and a smoked salmon bagel. Staff will serve tea service with a black tea labeled No. 727 Tiffany. The price tag is a fairly reasonable $45 per person.
The brief pop-up will be stationed in an outdoor patio just outside of Tiffany & Co.’s Rodeo Drive store in Beverly Hills. Consider this pop-up breakfast for a cause, as all proceeds will be donated to non-profit organization Baby2Baby, which provides children living in poverty with the basic necessities. If the popularity of the New York cafe is any indication with two-hour wait times, booking a reservation on Resy is a must for the barely two-hour window. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
