Silver Lake strip mall restaurant Trois Familia will close this weekend after more than four years. The restaurant, backed by Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and Ludo Lefebvre, will instead flip into something new entirely, while keeping that trio on as owners.

The new restaurant to slide into the Trois Familia space comes by way of Javier Ramos, a former chef de cuisine at Sqirl who has been popping up with weeknight dinners there for some time now. The Trois Mec guys are giving Ramos his own room to do his thing, which means closing Trois Familia as of Sunday night and pulling permits to flip the strip mall space off Sunset into something new. Ramos, meanwhile, will continue to cook some dishes out of the space under the name El Vy.

It remains to be seen what exactly that newness will ultimately look like. Ramos has been cooking casual California fare during his time inside Trois Familia — including one popular burger — but it’s unclear if that’s the direction the new project will lead. Shook and Dotolo, meanwhile, continue to expand on their own with the recent opening of Brentwood’s Jon & Vinny’s, while Ludo is running things at both of his Petit Trois locations.

Trois Familia will serve lunch and dinner today, then transition to dinner only for tomorrow and Sunday before beginning to transition.
