Silver Lake’s Two-Year-Old Corner Noodle Shop Closes for Good on Saturday

We Have Noodles owners say they’re looking for a new space

Casual Silver Lake spot We Have Noodles is closing tomorrow, just shy of its two-year anniversary.

Chef and owner Darren Sayphraraj announced the closure on social media earlier this week, saying: “We have outgrown our current space and will now focus on a new project in a bigger location.” The post, embedded below, also thanks all of the Silver Lake area “friends and regulars” who have come through since the restaurant first went live back in August of 2017.

As for what’s next, that remains unclear. Sayphraraj started the cheekily-named restaurant as a pop-up, working weekends at Smorgasburg as he built a following of fans eager to return for crispy duck khao soi, spicy miso ramen, and salt and pepper chicken wings. We Have Noodles eventually landed on the former Berlin Currywurst space, with its beer and wine license and small patio, as a jumping-off point for further success. Eater reached out for more information, but so far has not heard back.

No new tenant for that address has yet been announced. Meanwhile, much of Silver Lake continues to churn with restaurant life, from the relatively new California Sun pizza restaurant across the street to the incoming Tartine, Sweetgreen, and Erewhon not far away.
