New pizza

Nancy Silverton’s long-rumored pizza takeaway is coming to Culver City this fall. That’s per the LA Times, who note the name (Pizzette) and location of the place at the upcoming Citizen Public Market. The sprawling food hall has filled up with tenants including an oyster bar and wine spot, while Silverton and company will be focusing on small pizzas and folded open-face sabich-like options using the same pizza dough.

On the move

Dessert hero and 2019 Eater Young Gun Max Boonthanakit is leaving Nightshade in the Arts District, per the NY Times. He plans to continue his trajectory working in fine dining kitchens in Bangkok next.

Pasta Joe

Joe Sasto is popping up at Melody on Virgil on July 18, doing a collection of pastas and more for anyone who happens to come by. The meal is a la carte, so just show up.

Handing it out

Apparently Jaden Smith is staying busy these days running a new free food truck for residents of Skid Row. The mobile venture is called I Love You, and it has been dishing out packaged meals for those in need, but so far without any regular hours or location.

Everytable trouble

It looks like Everytable has been quietly closing a few locations around the city. The do-good restaurant with the sliding payment scale depending on the neighborhood has shuttered its locations in Century City and Santa Monica, per Toddrickallen.

Bagel service

Ricardo Zarate is collaborating with the folks from Pop’s Bagels for a one-day event at Pikoh on Saturday. Zarate will be making pork belly breakfast sandwiches, and Pop’s will be turning out cooked-to-order bagels from 9 a.m. to noon.

Summer drinks

It’s tiki time at the Spare Room in Hollywood tomorrow night. The evening of rum-based drinks is a collaboration with Will Elliott of Maison Premiere out of Brooklyn, and kicks off at 9 p.m.
