File this one under: Neighborhood cafes that are sure to make loads and loads of money. That’s the plan, at least, for Tartine Sycamore, the tucked-away new daytime restaurant from the San Francisco Tartine team, open as of today.
Tartine is most widely known for their global cafes and restaurants, where owners Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt turn out Bay Area-rustic breads and pastries, along with salads, sandwiches, coffee drinks, and more. The newest LA cafe location piggybacks on the production found at the company’s massive Southern California flagship space at the Row in Downtown Los Angeles, which comes complete with two restaurants, a market place, and multiple bread and coffee production spaces of its own.
In Hollywood, it’s all about sticking to the basics, including avocado toast, grain bowls, a fried chicken sandwich done in a katsu style, and eggs for breakfast. And while this cafe does offer Tartine Manufactory coffee as well, there’s soon to be a fellow San Francisco transplant, Sightglass Coffee, opening in the same development as well.
Tartine Sycamore’s opening menu is below. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday/Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Future Tartine cafe locations include Silver Lake and Santa Monica.
Tartine Sycamore. 911 N. Sycamore Ave., Los Angeles.
