Apparently Shaquille O’Neal isn’t done opening restaurants in Los Angeles. The Big Aristotle has inked a deal to bring his fast casual poultry restaurant Big Chicken to los Angeles, landing a 2,500 square foot space right across the street from the Americana at Brand in Glendale.

Big Chicken is already a big deal out in Las Vegas, with O’Neal opening the restaurant to tons of fanfare and, because of course, a dedicated reality show for Facebook Watch. The menu mostly sticks to a variety of chicken sandwiches and salads, plus some sides, sliders, and tenders. The plan is to open before the end of the year.

This new Big Chicken is far from the first time that the legendary former NBA player and Los Angeles Laker legend has invested his time and money in the restaurant world. Shaq is currently a spokesman and stakeholder in beleaguered pizza franchise Papa John’s, and has previously put money into Five Guys and other fast food businesses. More recently, he opened a dedicated sit down Southern food restaurant at L.A. Live in Downtown called Shaquille’s.

Big Chicken. 252 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA.
