Hollywood sandwich favorite Banh Oui is now open along Melrose. The upstart banh mi specialist branched out to one of the city’s busiest restaurant stretches earlier this month, promising to keep its wide variety of menu staples while also adding baked goods and a lot more catering and takeout business.

This new Banh Oui takes over for the short-lived Stuff’d Dumpling Shop on Melrose, not far from culinary heavy hitters like Mozza, Auburn, and Chi Spacca. And while the space itself is rather small, mostly just an ordering counter and a few tables, the growth of Banh Oui itself from a roving pop-up to a Smorgasburg vendor to this second location is itself rather notable. In addition to Casey Felton and Armen Piskoulian’s sandwiches, diners will also find options like honey buns, mochi muffins, lemon verbena cheesecake, and a return of the Hollywood location’s popular shrimp toast.

Banh Oui Melrose is now open, keeping hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., or 10 p.m. on weekends.
