Sidecar Doughnuts is making a big push into Los Angeles. The Orange County upstart known for its inventive flavors and long Costa Mesa lines only just opened a new outlet down in Torrance, but now Eater has confirmed at least two other locations are on the horizon.
First up is Manhattan Beach, the South Bay city already known for its culinary prowess. Sidecar will slide into Manhattan Village shopping plaza off Sepulveda, which is already home to a variety of restaurants including chains like Island’s and LA Mexican food staple Mercado. The second location lands at busy Third and Fairfax, right next door to the Trader Joe’s and within walking distance to the Original Farmer’s Market (with its own old school doughnuts) and the Grove. Both locations are slated to open sometime next year, though there are no formal timing announcements to be made just yet.
Sidecar Doughnuts continues to thrive even with increased competition in the artisanal doughnut market from names like Blue Star and Voodoo. The company has a busy location down in Del Mar, and opened up in Santa Monica back in 2015. It’s Torrance location is hosting its first full hours of service just today at Rolling Hills Plaza.
