One of Chicago’s Most Celebrated Chicken Spots Pops Up in LA For One Day Only

Plus a Cantonese pop-up, and new pizza in Studio City

One of Chicago’s most celebrated food pop-ups is coming to Los Angeles on Monday, January 27. The Honey Butter Fried Chicken crew, with their tens of thousands of Instagram followers, will be hunkering down at Pizzana in Brentwood for a one-day collection of fried chicken sandwiches, including their O.G. with chicken strips and candied jalapeño mayo; a honey butter option; and a chicken parm sandwich collab with Pizzana chef/owner Daniele Uditi. The sandwiches will be available from lunch through dinner on that Monday, but for one day only.

— Bay Area fast casual Indian food export Curry Up Now is now open at 922 Spectrum Center Drive in Irvine, as part of the group’s planned franchising via Fransmart.

— Local pizza spot Lucifers is opening a new location in Studio City tomorrow. Find them at 11266 Ventura Boulevard.

— Ramses Walker is in as chef at Westdrift hotel restaurant Jute Coastal Bar + Kitchen in Manhattan Beach. Walker previously worked at the Westin Bonaventure and Trejo’s Tacos, among other places.

— KCRW spent time last week discussing the way that coffee shops look in some of LA’s changing neighborhoods, and why design matters for community spaces.

Ma’am Sir in Silver Lake is adding a new late night menu this Friday. Expect $10 cocktails and a variety of $8 Filipino dishes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday night, plus DJs.

— Chef Johnny Lee’s Pearl River Delta Cantonese pop-up is coming to the former Baohaus space at Far East Plaza for a limited run, starting this Sunday.
