No more Wexler’s

Wexler’s Deli, the popular Jewish deli stall that serves loads of lox and bagels, has closed at the Westfield Century City mall. The stand, which was located in the food court area, is now all buttoned up, with ownership telling Eater that increased restaurant competition (without a similar increase in foot traffic) at the mall lead to the decision to move on.

And Silver Lake is in for one less

Meanwhile, Daw Yee Myanmar Corner is set to close this month in Silver Lake. Employees confirmed the upcoming shutter of the three-and-a-half year old restaurant when reached by phone, but could not provide an exact last day.

One for the fans

The team from Belle’s Bagels is partnering up with the Burgerlords crew for a custom collaboration this month only. The so-called Schmohawk burger merger comes with smoked carrot “lox,” scallion cream cheese, and a Burgerlords veggie patty (which means it can be made vegan), and can be found only at the two Burgerlords locations through January.

A different print

LA Times co-critic Patricia Escárcega dropped a bit of knowledge in her latest newsletter, telling readers that the print food section for the paper will be switching to Sundays from now on.

Here and gone

Tex-Mex option El Tejano on La Cienega in West Hollywood has closed, ending a rather brief run there.

Late night eats

Adam Perry Lang’s APL in Hollywood is now doing late night happy hour from Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with options like $12 beef tartare, $10 cocktails, and $10 ribs.
