The sweetest opening this weekend is sure to be Sugar Factory American Brasserie, a sprawling 14,000 square-foot home for sweets, cocktails, and lots of Instagramming inside the Westfield Century City mall complex. The full-service brasserie opened for first service last night, and features some 400 seats across an indoor-outdoor space, complete with a large patio and art installations. This is big, colorful dining at its most LA opulent.
Some folks may know Sugar Factory as a retail store with a former outlet at Hollywood and Highland, or as an international player with locations in Dubai, NYC’s Meatpacking District, and beyond. This new location promises to be bigger than the one at Paris Las Vegas, including a retail section beyond the dining room.
The general theme across each of the company’s 24 locations is big, opulent Candyland wonder, with options for $39 cocktails served in whimsical 64-ounce goblets and rainbow-tinted burger sliders for $25. There’s an almost Alice In Wonderland (not the Valley dive bar iteration) appeal, done with complete earnestness like at similarly playful destination Barton G.
Sugar Factory’s gigantic new indoor-outdoor location is now open at the Westfield Century City at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, keeping hours from 11 a.m. to midnight (1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday), and starting brunch at 10 a.m. on weekends.
