Zinqué

Venice’s new Zinqué is now open at 1430 Lincoln Boulevard, marking a return for the restaurant group after leaving its former home at Venice and Abbot Kinney. The new space comes with a full liquor license and more robust kitchen, plus the same mellow French-leaning menu and vibe — including the usual indoor-outdoor flow, neon lighting, and touches of greenery. There are pastries in the morning, full meals at night, drinks all day, and a marketplace up front for takeaway goods, too.

The new Zinqué is now open along Lincoln, keeping hours from 7 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, with an extension to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Can’t make the Venice location work? Zinqué also has outlets in Downtown, West Hollywood, Century City, Newport Beach, and beyond.

Goop to your door

The Goop crew has a new delivery-only ghost kitchen, this time up in Studio City. Expect vegetable-focused dishes like salads, grain bowls, soups, and wraps. The new launch is done in concert with DoorDash, and is just the second Goop Kitchen so far, with Santa Monica being the first.

Spooky party season

Bardonna Santa Monica is offering free hot cocoa to kids who show up in costume for Halloween. Over at Piccalilli in Culver City, the restaurant is doing one-off dishes like sweet and sour chicken feet on Saturday and Sunday only to celebrate the weekend. And in Downtown, Guerrilla Tacos is hosting a costume party complete with DJ, photo booth, and tarot card reading on Sunday, October 31.

Pop’s Bagels prepares to move

Pop’s Bagels is preparing to shuffle from the Platform development over to the Culver Steps. The more centrally-located Culver project is almost ready to roll, meaning the time has come to shut down Pop’s at Platform.

Wine and dine in south Orange County

The 6th annual OC Meets Napa event is going down in San Juan Capistrano on November 6 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. That means wines from Latino-owned vineyards, food from across the Latin American spectrum, and more.

Soulmate sparks up on the weekend

Meanwhile up in West Hollywood, Soulmate has launched brunch for the very first time. Chef Rudy Lopez’s Spanish-leaning Saturday and Sunday menu (available 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will include dishes like chorizo hash, bocadillo, Spanish tortillas, and drinks from bar director Naomi Schimek of course.

Birria on the Hollywood block

Todo Bien is now open as a restaurant in Hollywood. Owner Alex Arutyunyan offers birria in all formats (meaning tacos, quesadillas, and burritos) from inside the closed Game Over Pizza space at 7065 Sunset Boulevard. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
