Patra’s Burgers on Sunset, Echo Park’s longstanding burger joint on the corner of Sunset and Laveta Terrace, is for sale according to the real estate site Loopnet. The classic Los Angeles diner/restaurant with the Greek name opened in the early 1970s and survived as the neighborhood shifted into its present form.
The building is 67 years old. For now, Patra’s Sunset is still open and cranking out LA favorites like pastrami, quick breakfasts, charbroiled burgers, and breakfast burritos. It’s one of the few remaining old-school spots on Echo Park’s main gentrified strip other than Rodeo Mexican Grill and Happy Tom’s.
