Santa Monica newcomer Aestus goes big with a $50 three-course dinner option that lets guest put together their own meals, from a beef tartare or hamachi crudo starter through mains like flat iron steak or striped bass, with dessert to follow.

Bouchon

A $25 lunch at Bouchon Bistro in Beverly Hills is always an absolute steal, especially when it comes with chicken liver mousse to start and could finish with some coq au vin.

The Water Grill

Though $50 is on the high end for dinner, Water Grill’s stellar three-course option lets customers navigate an array of fresh seafood options, from clam chowder starters to pan-seared ahi ahi mains. Finish, of course, with key lime pie.

The Gadarene Swine

Phillip Frankland Lee’s vegan eatery The Gadarene Swine, already an addition to Eater’s 38 essential restaurants list, dons a six-course chef’s tasting menu for dinner. At $50, it’s at the high end for a night out, but you won’t find a more well-executed dinner full of vegetables anywhere.

The Corner Door

A longtime Culver City neighborhood staple, The Corner Door entices newcomers with a stellar $30 dinner option, featuring exclusive dineLA dishes like Pork Delmonico and pan-roasted salmon. Don’t forget to add a cocktail.

The Churchill

West Third’s The Churchill keeps things surprisingly cheap for lunch, with a two-course option that lets customers choose between a cubano sandwich or burger as a main. Bonus: recommended wine pairings are $10 or less.

Always a great option for a mid-range dinner, Sotto is upping the ante for dineLA with a three-course $40 dinner (plus some marinated olives to start). Move between beet and ricotta crespelle, big-eyed tuna crudo, and olive oil cake with ease.

Saddle Peak Lodge

You likely won’t be fed better anywhere else than at Saddle Peak Lodge, which is doing a six-course evening chef’s menu for $50, a steal that includes elk tenderloin, pea toast and venison carpaccio.

Redbird

Running lunch only, Downtown’s Redbird is going big for just $25, letting guests choose between shishitos or a full chicken pot pie to start, with trout, a spit-roasted chicken, or gnochetti with shrimp as a main. Add on cookies or a stone fruit crisp for just $5 more.

Dinner time runs $30, which offers some more substantial dishes like head-on shrimp and filet mignon skewers with roasted pepper sauce.

M Grill

Morton's the Steakhouse

In need of a good steak, or just a classy-looking spot without the wallet-busting price tag? Morton's has a $50 dinner special with three courses, including a 6 oz filet, prime pork chop, or baked stuffed jumbo shrimp as the entree. The range of courses extends beyond that, making this one of the more flexible dineLA menus in town.

With an always reliable set of Italian dishes, Gusto is offering both a $25 lunch and $50 dinner, with bites like the meatballs al forno, free range chicken with royal trumpet mushrooms, or super-rich bucatini all'amatriciana for lunch. Dinner highlights the same courses, but includes dessert, including a decadent chocolate budino.

Craving more Italian-American fare? Check out the $50 dinner menu for this hidden Hollywood gem, which includes the massive beef, pork, and veal meatballs; choice of pasta, and entrees like the chicken parm, eggplant parm, and pork chop served with hot and cherry peppers.

The Hungry Cat

This Hollywood seafood spot has a swell $50 special that offers three courses per night during dineLA. Start with 6 oysters on the half shell or braised mussels with Thai sausage. Michael Cimarusti's bustling seafood restaurant in WeHo has a nice three courser running just $40 at night, including grilled calamari or half a dozen oysters to start. Entrees include fish & chips, Portuguese stew or even a lobster roll. Desserts include a fruit cobbler or the amazing blondie, which is a must order if you haven't already tried it.

Arroyo Chop House

If you haven't been to this classy steakhouse in Pasadena, you're missing out on one of the more reliable steak restaurants in L.A. The $50 dinner includes three courses, so start off with the soup of the day or chilled oysters, then pick between a petit filet mignon, Australian lobster tail, or marinaded chicken breast (if you're not in the mood for deliciousness). You get a choice of two side orders with the entree, then finish with a fudge brownie sundae or New York cheesecake for dessert.

Ray's & Stark Bar

With a very reasonably priced $30 dinner, start with a butter lettuce salad or chilled corn soup. Then move onto a lobster roll, skirt steak, or chicken pot pie. For dessert, the classy establishment ends with a chocolate semifreddo or lady finger confection topped with Harry's berries.
