Perhaps the most well-known macaron shop of the bunch, this perpetually packed downtown hotspot is made all the more magical by its gorgeous pastry display. Not only is there a colorful abacus of macarons that come in early grey, praline, and fruity varieties, but it also offers le grand macaron, an oversized almond cookie filled with vanilla cream and fresh raspberries.

All the pastries are made in-house at this Downtown lunch hot spot. Special flavors can include strawberries and champagne, and aren't as cloyingly sweet as some varieties. Is there a better afternoon pick-me-up for the local office crowd? We think not.

The Rose

The Rose pastry chef Christina Hanks worked with her mentors Alen Ramos and Carolyn Nugent, responsible for the macaron program at Bottega Louie, on the Venice restaurant's iteration of the French confection. Here the flavor is PB&J, adding a sophisticated touch to your favorite lunchbox treat.
