That includes options from the country’s most innovative plant-based restaurants, where those who abstain from animal products or omnivores can find something fantastic whether street tacos from Fullerton’s Chicana Vegana, pizza from Crossroads Kitchen in WeHo, or flavorful sushi from Shojin. Flore Vegan changed locations just before the pandemic began offering its longtime classics like sliders, pizzas, and bowls while selling pantry items like Vegenaise, millet bread, cashew cream cheese, and produce.

Vegan and macrobiotic Japanese specialist Shojin’s delicate plant-based sushi and bento boxes are offered from the Downtown and Culver City locations, with pickup or delivery from actual Shojin employees. On December 24 and 25, the Downtown location will jump into the Christmas spirit by offering rooftop dining from your car.

Hinterhof Vegan German Kitchen and Beer Garden

Highland Park’s Hinterhof expended its outdoor patio into a gorgeous hangout this year, but Angelenos will have to wait for reopening. Until then, its takeout or delivery for Hinterhof’s vegan corned beef, schnitzel, or currywurst to-go or delivery.

Ricchardo’s The Total Vegetarian

The former Orean’s Health Express went through a few changes since 2019. And this Pasadena restaurant has offers something useful during the pandemic: a drive-thru. Ricchardo’s made a few menu adjustments to the space and menu, but still packs the same vegan fast food punch its been making for decades. No walk-ups though.
