Either way, it takes the stress away from some who don't want to necessarily orchestrate a big meal at home, or because cleaning the kitchen and dishes afterward can be overwhelming. Where to Eat Christmas Dinner in Los Angeles
This seafood-centric French restaurant in Hollywood is offering a $65 prix fixe until 7:30 each evening the week of December 23, including Christmas Day.
The W Hotel in Westwood's restaurant, NINETHIRTY, is hosting a Christmas Eve dinner from 5-10 p.m. with three courses for $56, including roasted cauliflower bisque, grilled rack of lamb, and a dark chocolate bourbon bread pudding.
West Hollywood's having a Big Night on Christmas Eve, where in addition to the standard a la carte menu, chef Andrea Cavaliere is making a handmade Timpano, a baked, domed pasta dish made with rigatoni bolognese and meatballs. The dish was made in Stanley Tucci's film, Big Night, and will be $90 with advance order. Dinner reservations on Christmas Eve will be taken from 5-9 p.m.
Mr. C Beverly Hills
This classy hotel restaurant in the southern section of Beverly Hills is preparing dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas day with a slew of comfort dishes for $80 per person, including baked spinach tagliolini and a roasted rack of lamb. An a la carte menu is also available.
Instead of the traditional feast of seven fishes, the Pasadena Italian restaurant is doing a "Feast of the Seven Cows," with four-course menu for $59, and an additional three courses for $29 more. Dishes include oxtail ravioli, beef carpaccio, and panna "cowta." Dinner must be preordered by December 21 and will be served on Christmas Eve starting from 5 p.m.
Cast at Viceroy Santa Monica
Chef Tony DiSalvo is creating a simple three course prix fixe on Christmas Eve with a choice of things like Chestnut Soup with Lobster Beignets, Roasted Duck with Parsnips and Kumquats, and a Tangerine Panna Cotta. On Christmas Day, brunch is a grand buffet with a carving station, prepared salad bar (like duck confit and smoked salmon salads), a handful of side dishes, and dessert bar.
Tom Colicchio's enduring farm-to-table restaurant in Century City is still a gold standard for service and quality, making it a great holiday destination. This Christmas Eve, there's a $105 five-course prix fixe menu with a selection of many different comfort food and refined seasonal dishes.
Fogo de Chão
Christmas Eve is a great time to indulge in something different, and the all-you-can-eat fare at Fogo De Chão is one of them, with 16 different cuts straight from the flame to your table. Lunch is $35.50 while dinner runs $58.50 per person.
On Christmas Eve, this fine dining destination from Josiah Citrin will host a five-course dinner from 5-8:30 p.m. for $150 per person, including Maine lobster, Liberty duck, and truffle risotto for the ultimate in holiday decadence.
Oliverio at Avalon Beverly Hills
Chef Mirko Paderno is preparing a special Christmas Dinner with a prix fixe menu of Italian dishes, including beef tartare, veal ravioli with black winter truffle, seafood risotto (risotto is the chef's specialty), and braised beef with polenta for $64.
The Larder is doing a complete take-away menu for Christmas that will make it easy for people wanting to host fantastic dinners at home without all the preparation and clean up. The extensive menu has everything from oven-ready turkey to four-bone rib roast, as well as sides and dessert.
This classy Downtown establishment is preparing a three-course Christmas Eve dinner for $65 per person (or four courses for $78) that includes choices like wilted kale salad, pork belly with lentils or lobster risotto, cote de boeuf, and winter pears delice for dessert.
For either seaside or Downtown fun, Water Grill will be serving on Christmas Eve with its stellar selection of oysters, hot seafood apps, and fresh fish prepared in a variety of ways.
